Creative journey

After more than 30 years I went back to the place where I was born and where i spent my first fifteen years of my life. My childhood... The years full of imagination... Even now while I am writing all this i feel very emotional...

So many things happened to me in that only one week. So Many...
The smell of grass in the early mornings and the mist, the wind and the red clay collected on my shoes... The smell of Turkish coffee or the sound of the traditional Serbian instrument gusle (a bit annoying), and calmness of mountain Romanija ...all that moved me so much.

I used to get up early in the morning and go to the art studio and smell turpentine the smell of turpentine ... empty bottles of drinks... and half finished works... what a glorious experience.

The settings of Art colony were excellent, we were based in Students Center in Kalovita brda Pale, and the view what ever side you turn looked just amazing...

Mornings were usually hard on my head. Hangover after so many drinks from previous nights but my heart was light and I felt I could fly.

Observing from the distance and sometimes from close up the other participants - artists ..somehow ... i felt different... They were there and they obviously enjoyed and liked the settings of the Colony they did not have emotional attachment as i did.

The most fascinating person I met was Cedomir Kesic the artist and educator from Pancevo Serbia, who spent most of his time searching for the perfect scene, and that involved going endlessly into the woods and surrounding area of the building and analyzing grass, trees, soil and doing little sketches... The result was extraordinary . In my opinion he was the only one who got the essence of the place Pale....

JEDINSTVENA snaga i lepota koja se ogleda u Dunavu i ove godine biće inspiracija učesnicima 11. likovne kolonije "Dunavom do slike". Brod sa 16 umetnika već nekoliko dana "klizi" njegovim vodama. Tražeći pravi ugao i pogled, slikari će za deset dana preći put od Pančeva do Trajanove table.
A, na brodu svi se odomaćili. Većina ih je tu svake godine. Kažu, ovakva kolonija se ne propušta. Ideju je stvorio još 1994. godine Pančevački slikar Čedomir Kesić. Od tada ona živi i plovi.
- Na brodu su slikari iz Beograda, Pančeva, Niša, Banjaluke, Višegrada i sa Pala - priča stari vuk Kolonije Dragan Antonijev, akademski slikar iz Pančeva. - Posle putovanja, svake godine organizujemo i izložbu. Zbog uslova na brodu, ovde se najviše crta i radi akvarel. Ponekad kiša pokuša sve da pokvari, ali mi idemo dalje.
Kada ju je stvori, Kesić je imao želju da Kolonija izađe iz okvira stereotipa. Trebalo ju je odatle i otrgnuti.
- Promena pejzaža, živa i neposredna komunikacija sa ljudima veliki su korak i sami po sebi dobra inspiracija slikarima - kaže Kesić. - Ljudi imaju priliku da sačuvaju svoj mir bez ikakvog uticaja. Na brodu su samo slikari. Ovde se sve dešava u pokretu. Skice, crteži, svojevrstan brodski dnevnik koji se vodi... Poseban je i osećaj kada se gledaju te slike. Tačno znamo gde su i kako nastale.

I dok se lađa zahuktala, čuveni "smederevac" već je bio dobro podložen za tradicionalno kuvanje slatkog kupusa. Na brodu ima svakakvih đakonija. One najbitnije, naravno, vise na kukama - domaća slanina, paprika i beli luk.
